Art Shares will let collectors own part of a physical artwork, or win the whole work in a raffle. The artwork stays in safe keeping while the shares are bought and sold.

Win it
A raffle for the whole work. Tickets are not shares. Weekly cuts by a random draw; the last ticket standing wins the work.
Shares
Own a share
Each work is held by its own company and split into 10,000 shares. Shares sit in your wallet and can be sold on the marketplace.
How shares will work
Buy, trade, sell together

Offering
Shares sell at a fixed price until they are gone.

Trading
After the offering, holders buy and sell shares at prices they set.

Sale of the work
If someone offers to buy the whole work, holders vote. If the vote passes, every holder is paid for their shares.
Fractional shares of an artwork are likely to be regulated as securities in Canada and the United States. Art Shares launch after legal review.
